Original Gravity Records Unleashes Boss Sounds Vol. 4

A Heavy Slice of Skinhead Reggae, History, and Dancefloor Fire!

London, UK – Original Gravity Records, the home of authentic vintage grooves, proudly announces the release of Boss Sounds Vol. 4 – a four-track EP steeped in the roots of late-60s Jamaican reggae and ska, featuring fierce instrumentals, vocal toasting, and a powerful tribute to the genre’s origins.

Track Listing:

Side A
1. Skinhead Reggae – Junior Dell & The D-Lites

2. Shelf Side Shuffle – Woodfield Rd Allstars

Side B
1. Rock It Downtown – Woodfield Rd Allstars feat. Horseman

2. Buster Bone – Woodfield Rd Allstars

The EP opens with Skinhead Reggae, a spirited musical “history lesson” voiced by Junior Dell, charting the evolution of Jamaican music from ska to rocksteady to the boss reggae sounds that electrified UK youth culture in the late ’60s. It’s a rhythmic celebration of identity, culture, and sound system spirit.

The Woodfield Rd Allstars deliver the goods throughout: from the soulful organ shuffle of Shelf Side Shuffle to the heavyweight rub-a-dub of Rock It Downtown, featuring legendary UK MC Horseman on the mic. Closing the EP, Buster Bone lays down a smooth, jazzy guitar-led instrumental over a classic early reggae shuffle—a stylish nod to the musicianship that defined the era.

"With each volume, we’re building a catalogue that honours the roots while giving today’s listeners a reason to move," says Neil Anderson, founder of Original Gravity Records. "Vol. 4 continues that mission—real instruments, real rhythm, and real reggae history.”

Boss Sounds Vol. 4 is available on limited edition 7” vinyl and via digital platforms from September 2025. www.originalgravity.co.uk
